Miraculous Ladybug

First of all, I’d like to apologize for not posting anything last week, but if you follow me on Twitter (my links are below), you should know that I have been very unwell and not able to look at a screen for over a minute, which has obviously been problematic for my school work and the blog. But I am feeling way better now and ready to talk to you about my newest obsession.

Yes, you might think that I’m actually not feeling that better if I am talking to you about a kid’s show but trust me, it actually is good. I have been hearing about this show everywhere on the internet and thought the world was going mental. What could be so special about this show? Well, I decided to give it a try two days ago and I just got hooked. I have watched every single episode and loved every second of it.

Plot summary (from tvshowtime) : In modern-day Paris, there’s a teen junior high school girl named Marinette Dupain-Cheng and her classmate, Adrien. When evil arises, Marinette transforms into Ladybug while Adrien transforms into Cat Noir. However, neither know each other’s secret identities. Together, they fight to protect Paris against the mysterious villain Hawk Moth.

The first thing I loved about this show is the animation. It’s been a long time since I have seen animation this precise and just beautiful. It will make you want to grab your pencil and try to draw the characters. The whole thing also takes place in Paris and, going to Paris myself every day for uni, I can say that I love the way they represented the city. You will have no problem recongnizing every place where the action takes place.

Another thing I loved was obviously the characters, as I always do. You will get attached so easily, not only to the Marinette and Adrien but even the less important ones. Except to Chloé, you will hate her with all your soul. But then again, it’s a kid show, you always have a bitch in it, just like in real life, am I right? 😉 Of course, you will also become involved in Marinette and Adrien’s complicated love story and just want them to figure out each other’s identities so they can be together. But at the same time, you won’t want that because you’ll know that everything will be different after that. And isn’t it one of the reasons why this show can be funny? Other than Chat Noir’s puns of course !
